Install Language Pack For DotNetNuke

This post is based on DNN 4.0.2. To install a new language pack from a downloaded file from the DNN website you have to log in as an admin or a host.

1. Once loged in go to Host - Languages
2. On the Languages page click on the Upload Language Pack link
3. Browse to the downloaded zip file
4. Click Add
5. Click Upload New File. You should now see a log with the details of the import.
6. Click the Return link at the bottom of the log and you should now see your installed package.

Happy programming

Did you say: "Once loged in go to Host - Languages", but I can't see the option in my dnn, where is this. Can you make a picture this location?

Reply

You have to log in as the host. If you're not the host, then you're not going to see the host menu. The only person who can upload language packs is the host user.

Thanks much. I will use it on my class site for a student in spain. Each Student has their own portal so I imagine that the language can be installed on a portal to portal basis

There are a few blog posts that have been posted to the DotNetNuke blog. A search for the terms Blog and 3.5 from your favorite search engine should provide a list of some of the recent posts. Antonio Chagoury is the team lead that's been posting, so adding his name to the search may make it easier to find these entries. Some of his recent posts have links back into the earlier posts that covered some of the updates.

Hello,

I've seen the fr-FR language pack is not available yet for DNN 5.0.0.  When will it be available?  Or should I use the language pack 4.x before the language pack is updated?
